Water poured into a vase holds the shape of the vase. So too the vessel of the body holds the strange matter of the soul. It is easy to forget the vessel and think the soul solid. Death is a remembering - where the dissolving vessel can no longer be ignored, and the shapeless soul expands along axes unknown and unknowable.
