Mixing documentary and personal memories, the work portrays the flood‐stricken Indian city
of Mumbai after the monsoon of 2005. The artist revisits the neighborhood from which the work takes its name and uses it to piece together a mosaic that is, at once, a portrait of devastation
and its emotional consequences, and an analysis of the crumbling of personal sanctuaries, in a universal sense.
