Zachary Charles

Zach Charles is an American writer, filmmaker, and lifelong student of science, educated at the University of Southern California. He explores the complexities of the human condition through the cinematic arts, while his scientific literacy grounds him in critical thinking-together giving him a unique perspective. Zach is known for undertaking dangerous pursuits safely as a licensed pilot, skydiver, and rescue scuba diver. He is the author of Sufferless: The Science & Philosophy of Reducing Suffering (2026) and the founder of The Sufferless Foundation, dedicated to transforming the book's ideas into measurable reductions of suffering worldwide. Zach began his filmmaking career as a child actor in film and television. His appearance in ER (Season 2, Episode 7: "Hell and High Water")-starring opposite George Clooney-earned an Emmy nomination. At thirteen, he stepped away from acting to focus on his education, later graduating from USC in 2012.
