Attila Tokatlı

Attila Tokatlı was a Turkish film director, screenwriter, and translator, known for his contributions to Turkish cinema and literature. Born in Denizli, he graduated from Galatasaray High School and pursued studies in philosophy at Istanbul University. In 1956, Tokatlı moved to Paris, where he continued his education at the Sorbonne University and received training in cinema. Upon returning to Turkey, he directed films such as Denize İnen Sokak (1960) and Seni Kaybedersem (1961). Tokatlı was also a prolific translator, bringing over 100 works into Turkish, including significant literary and philosophical texts. His contributions to both cinema and literature have left a lasting legacy in Turkish cultural history. He passed away in Istanbul at the age of 56.
