Li Xiaofeng majored in film production in Sint-Lukas, Belgium. From 1999 to 2004, he used the pen name Liar to write film reviews and was widely known and published his personal film essay "Tianliang shuo want". In 2002, he joined Huayi Brothers Lu Chuan director's studio.
