David R. Corpuz

David Corpuz is a Filipino filmmaker and educator. He holds a PhD in Philippine Studies from De La Salle University Manila and an MA in Media Studies (Film) from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He currently serves as Dean of the School of Multimedia and Digital Arts at Mapúa University and previously chaired its Digital Film program. He has been teaching in higher education for over 12 years and currently serves as a member of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Multimedia Arts. He won the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature and the Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video. Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam marks his third participation in Cinemalaya, following The Ordinary Things We Do (2014), which won the Special Jury Prize for the short film category, and Kusina (2016), a full-length feature film finalist.
