Volkmar R. Kahlert

Volkmar R. Kahlert was a German journalist, film producer, and director. At the age of 16, he worked as a camera assistant in Poland for the first time in 1940. After World War II, he helped establish the first school of journalism in Germany, became chief reporter for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and studied political science in the USA. After several career stops, he worked for Bavaria Filmkunst AG for six years. There he headed the special production department and was responsible for all film genres except feature films, including television. In 1962, he started his own business and founded INDOC-Film GmbH.
