Keshav Bhattarai

Keshab Bhattarai (1968 – December 15, 2019) was a prominent Nepalese actor, film producer, and arts administrator who made a lasting impact on Nepali cinema over a career spanning more than three decades. He made his acting debut in Tulsi Ghimire's feature film Koseli and went on to perform in roughly 50 movies, taking on memorable character roles in popular films such as Pukar, Dakshina, Balidaan, Afno Manche, and Sukha Dukha. Beyond his work in front of the camera, he established himself as a successful film producer with commercial hits like Krodh, Karodpati, Kismat, and Karmayoddha. His leadership and dedication to the industry culminated in his appointment as the Executive Chairman of the Film Development Board of Nepal, where he worked to modernize national cinema and promote film workers' welfare. Bhattarai passed away suddenly at the age of 51 due to cardiac arrest in Kathmandu and was honored with state rites at Pashupati Aryaghat for his lifelong contributions to Nepalese arts and culture.
