Jimmy Hendrickx

Jimmy Hendrickx has a Master degree in Visual arts from the School of Arts in Ghent where he also taught editing. In 2013 he moved to Asia to work on his documentary productions. His first short Semalu (2013) about abandoned children on a construction site in Malaysia earned Best Film at the Tabor Film Festival in Croatia. His mid length feature A Punk Daydream (2019) about street punk in Indonesia, premiered at IFFR Rotterdam, followed by HOTDOCS, Warshaw and many other festivals. His feature film Slave Island (2025) had its world premiere at Movies That Matter in the Netherlands. Jimmy has a keen interest in cultures in transition.
