Vincent J. Donehue

Vincent J. Donehue was an American director celebrated for his contributions to theater, film, and television. Born in Whitehall, New York, he served in the Army Air Force during World War II before pursuing a career in the arts. Donehue directed several notable Broadway productions, including The Trip to Bountiful (1953) and The Sound of Music (1959), earning a Tony Award for Best Direction for Sunrise at Campobello (1958). He also directed the film adaptation of Sunrise at Campobello (1960), which garnered critical acclaim.
