Igor Smola

Filmmaker, born in 1989 in a closed town of Murmansk-150. At 11, he moved with his parents to Biysk, where he developed an interest in cinema, and later lived in St. Petersburg from age 15. In 2017, he made his first film in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the docufiction Trigger, which was shown in the out-of-competition programme of the Sarajevo Film Festival and in competition at the Spirit of Fire International Film Festival. Since 2020, he has been living in Azerbaijan, where he released his second film Destruction (2022). Igor’s third film, POV Memory (2023), participated in the International Competition of the 34th Message to Man Film Festival, as well as at ZINEBI, True/False, and the Uppsala Film Festival.
