Bohdan Karásek

Bohdan Karásek (1978, Brno) is a musician, film director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Higher Vocational School of Film in Zlín and later studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at FAMU, where he also worked as a teaching assistant. He has been making short amateur and experimental films since the 1990s. In 2008, he directed the film The Promising Generation. His last two ‘apartment films’, Lucie (2011) and Love Songs (2013), were produced independently by the Alfred Bouriana Film Company. In 2019, his feature film Karel, Me and You premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, for which he won the Innogy Award for Discovery of the Year. In 2026, his film Everything As It Should Be, produced by Beginner’s Mind, had its world premiere at KVIFF once again.
