Tom Evans

Tom Evans is a legendary climber and creator of the El Cap Report, a celebrated seasonal climbing blog that documents the daily activity, progress, and safety of climbers on Yosemite's El Capitan. After a historic climbing career himself, he spent three decades photographing and mentoring climbers from the El Cap bridge. Evans began climbing at the age of 13 and made the 33rd-ever ascent of El Capitan's "The Nose" in 1971. He went on to climb El Capitan five times in total, alongside other major walls, before transitioning his focus to climbing photography and education in the mid-1990s.
