Tevaite Vernette

Tevaite Vernette is a Tahitian actress. She played the role of Mauatua, Mel Gibson's love interest in the movie The Bounty (1984). This was her only acting role in a motion picture as of this writing. She lives in Tahiti, is married, and has two children. She is one of Tahiti's few celebrities and continues to make public appearances at openings, and as a spokesperson for the island when requested to.
