Hazel McKibbin

Hazel McKibbin is an award-winning British-American writer, director and editor. She is a BAFTA Newcomer and received a Princess Grace Award for emerging talent. She holds an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University. Hazel’s directorial debut Doublespeak premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and her second short She Always Wins premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. With over a decade of editorial experience informing her vision, Hazel finds herself drawn towards realism, often through a feminist lens, and the idea that compelling stories can be created from ordinary relationships and interactions. Commercial clients include Prada, Louis Vuitton, Goldman Sachs, Ralph Lauren, Nike, St. John, Lingua Franca and Gap. Hazel is also an educator and script consultant, having taught filmmaking at Columbia University, the New York Film Academy, and for Sundance Collab.
