Joanna Joy is a writer, director, and producer with a passion for interdisciplinary and intersectional storytelling. In 2025, she completed an artistic residency at the Rockhampton Museum of Art, focusing on the development of narrative cinematic content grounded in regional multicultural history. Prior to this, Joanna was selected for the 2023 Accelerator Lab at the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Untapped Program with Australians in Film. Joanna is deeply committed to intersectional storytelling, forming long-term collaborations with organisations like Darumbal People Aboriginal Corporation and educational not-for-profits such as Bus Stop Films, which champions accessible filmmaking for people living with disability.
