Alex Garcia Mallarini

Alex, a make the most out of every experience kind of person, is a self-taught film director with an international background, having spent his childhood in Montevideo and Buenos Aires–strongly showing in his evocative and atmospheric work. Driven by a desire to disrupt traditional narratives, his gritty, bold, and experimental style always finds a way of intertwining with deep human expressions. His body of work includes his latest short “The Female Side Effect,” a dark, social critique thriller against pharmaceutical companies and the lack of studies on women’s bodies, as well as commercials for Cholas X Chulas, Once, Brujas, Skydive Puerto Rico and Tourism of Ibiza.
