Arsh Jain

Arsh is an actor turned director. He started his journey in 2019 with collegiate-theatre as an actor but later his interest gravitated towards directing stories. His first attempt at direction was a play that was an adaptation of Fyodor's Dostoevsky's "Notes from the Underground". After 4 years of theatre, his first story with a camera was the short film "2bhk" which he wrote, directed, edited and also acted in. The film was screened across India through multiple film clubs and a few film festivals. His next and the most recent project is "Ustad Bantoo", a feature film about an Indian wedding Band trumpet player. The film got selected in the International Film Festival of Rotterdam for its World Premiere and also for the Work-in-Porgress Lab 2025 at the WAVES Film Bazaar where it was one of the only 2 projects to win the Red Sea Film Fund. Apart from filmmaking, he practices multiple art forms like painting, designing posters for other independent films, writing/ composing music, sketching and also creating aimations.
