Maxwell Gilbert

Maxwell Gilbert

Maxwell (or Max for short) is an award-winning filmmaker who grew up in his hometown York, Pennsylvania. He is born with autistic-spectrum disorder (Asperger Syndrome) and ADHD, and is the youngest in his family. He always had a creative integrity of coming up with stories since he was a child and loves watching movies and tv shows. Growing up with watching movies and tv shows repetitively made him start to understand more about what's happening in movies. He decided to become a filmmaker in summer between his junior and senior year of high school. He is currently studying film at The University of Alabama and minoring in theatre. Maxwell has work on a few student projects, including writing and directing his first-ever full short film, A Dance Away (2026), which has won an award for Best Experimental Film at the May 2026 WILDsound FEEDBACK Film & Screenplay Festival. Maxwell is well-driven in making creative films in all kinds of genres, mostly fantasy and horror.
