MAKI

Maximiliano González Chia is a 24 year old multidisciplinary artist whose creative path spans music, illustration, and filmmaking. He studied Filmmaking at UNIACC in Santiago, Chile, where he stood out in fields such as directing actors and editing. His curiosity has always been drawn to arts. In music, he channels his creative energy as the frontman and drummer of the rock project MAKI. And in 2025, his passion for storytelling takes cinematic form through original productions. His latest short film, Something Else (Algo más), dives into themes like mystery, aging, and the magical landscapes of southern Chile. Influenced by '90s and early 2000s comic books and cartoons, his work is infused with fantasy, bold colors, wonder, and emotion. His stories often revolve around the search for inner meaning, a deep connection with life, and the pursuit of dreams. Across all disciplines, his signature is clear: to portray life through a lens that is bright, thrilling, visually compelling, and deeply inspiring.
