Riley Scott

Riley Scott (born July 3, 2004) is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and director. Scott is known for directing independent short films in the drama, comedy, and modern western genres, often marked by an intimate tone, naturalistic performances, and a grounded visual style. His work emphasizes human vulnerability, quiet transformation, and the emotional weight of everyday moments. Scott made their directorial debut with The Night Shift, a short film centered around a late-night convenience store clerk. The film was noted for its minimalistic approach, strong visual atmosphere, and character-driven storytelling. Completed with a small crew on a modest budget, The Night Shift established Scott’s style and commitment to independent filmmaking. In addition to narrative shorts, Scott has directed music videos and experimental projects, frequently collaborating with musicians and local artists. Their films often blend elements of realism with stylized composition and restrained dialogue, drawing creative inspiration from filmmakers such as David Fincher, the Safdie brothers, and Wes Anderson. Scott’s upcoming work includes a psychological thriller set inside a fluorescent-lit customer service office and The Arrangement which releases at the end of 2025.
