Maria Luiza Staut

Director, screenwriter, animator, film curator, and Brazilian researcher, with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts MA in Film and Audiovisual Studies. She researches horror films directed by women in Brazil and primarily works in the fields of horror and animation, creating original and experimental projects related to the genre in the Latin American context. She directed the independent animated short films "Cuidado com a Cuca" (2020) and "Paty" (2026). Since 2024 she has been part of the curatorial and programming team of Djanho! – Curitiba International Fantastic Film Festival.
