Nix Vergara

Nix Vergara is a QC based multidisciplinary artist. She is a filmmaker, an actress, a visual artist, and a writer. She is currently establishing her own production house (Sineninix.) with several films she directed, To Immaculate Whore (2025), Sa Lambong ng Lumot Nagtago si Kaka (2025), and Where The Cave Ends (2026). Her short experimental film Manila Behind the City Lights (2024) was selected to screen for Pugnant Film Series in Greece in 2025. Her film Where The Cave Ends (2026) was a finalist for Sinepiyu XVIII: DIWA "Mula sa Lente ng Katauhan". She won the Best Actress award for 20th Mise-En-Scene Film Festival University of the Assumption for her performance in When the Credits Finally Roll (2025) She is a feminist who explores gender themes often bending the images and confronting the norm in the patriarchal society, and uplifting the matriarchy. She is also an advocate for alternative cinema and she believes that the filmmaking and film schools in the Philippines should explore communal practices with a necessity to get deeply rooted with the community.
