Zander Mapes

Zander Mapes

Zander Mapes is an emerging filmmaker and student. His work is driven by an interest in character-focused narratives, naturalistic dialogue, and emotionally grounded performances. Drawing inspiration from dialogue-heavy and visually intentional films, he aims to create stories where meaning is conveyed not only through writing, but through cinematography, pacing, and subtle visual details. His first short film “Wired Together” took inspiration from the likes of ‘La La Land’ & ‘The Worst Person In the World,’ creating a character driven story with themes of yearning and personal growth. It is an expanded story that finds itself telling a much longer story than its 15 minute run time.
