Tigran Tovmasian

Tigran Tovmasian is a Sydney based actor, filmmaker, and acting teacher of Armenian heritage. Originally a competitive martial artist, he was an international gold medalist and four time national medalist in Judo before transitioning into acting in his early teens. He trained in the Meisner Technique at The Actors Pulse in Sydney and later travelled to the United States, where he trained and was mentored by industry professionals including Debby Ryan, Paris Berelc, Hayden Byerly, and Josie Totah, and was offered representation by multiple agencies. Returning to Australia, Tovmasian continued his acting career across stage and screen, including his role in the TV mini-series Greystanes. Alongside acting, he developed a strong interest in storytelling and filmmaking. His directorial debut short film The Circus Lion, in which he also stars, has received international recognition and festival success, including selection at an Oscar qualifying festival. He recently directed another short film Going Dark, further expanding his work as a filmmaker. Tovmasian is also an acting tutor at The Actors Pulse, teaching and studying performance across Australia, the United States, and Europe. He continues to build a body of work focused on emotionally driven storytelling and character-led cinema.
