Matt Eliason

Matt Eliason (born June 10, 1988) is an American former soccer striker best known for his record-setting career at Northwestern University, where he scored 33 goals and 82 points, earned multiple All-Big Ten and All-America honors, and helped the team reach the NCAA quarterfinals. After working in finance at GE Capital, he gained viral fame in 2013 with a bicycle kick goal against Messi in a charity match, leading to brief pro stints with Red Bulls U-23 and Iceland's Þróttur. He was inducted into Northwestern's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016.
