Raphael Aherne

Born in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Raphael Aherne has been working in animation and live action film since childhood. His work blends his studies of literature and philosophy with the aesthetics of genre cinema. His work is influenced equally by his Irish upbringing and by international cinema, particularly the work of Park Chan Wook, Brian de Palma, Michael Mann, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Kleber Mendonça Filho.
