Augustin Sasarman

Augustin Sasarman is a Canadian film director, born in Newmarket, Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, who began creating short films at the age of 12 after first experimenting with home videos at just 8 years old. Since then, he has directed, written, produced, and edited nearly 25 short films, each serving as a step in his journey as a filmmaker. At 17, he completed his first feature film, a formative project that taught him valuable lessons in storytelling, narrative structure, and production. He is now in pre-production on his second feature, Storytellers, which he considers his first serious large-scale project and a culmination of the creative voice he has been refining for years. His creative voice is heavily influenced by his favorite filmmakers, including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Walt Disney, Christopher Nolan and James Cameron. Outside of filmmaking, Augustin was a competitive sailor ranked #1 in the country for 2 consecutive years (2023-2024) in the C420 boat class for under-21 sailors. Sailing has taught him skills that have directly influenced his approach to filmmaking.
