Deniz Akçay

Screenwriter, director, producer. She was born in 1978 in Izmir. Her full name is Deniz Akçay Katıksız. She graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema in 2004. In 2000, she crossed paths with Birol Güven and joined the sector as a screenwriter with the television series Kahkaha Show. In 2006, she took director and editing lessons at the New York Film Academy. Since 2016, she has been working with his sister Armağan Gülşahin with the Teşriki Mesai script group she founded with her friends. Deniz Akçay made a lot of noise in the industry with the movie Köksüz( Nobody's Home), which she both wrote and directed and produced in 2013, and in the same year she won the Seyfi Teoman Best First Film Award at 32nd Istanbul Film Festival, Yılmaz Güney Award at the International 20th Golden Boll Film Festival and was awarded the Best Screenplay awards at the 47th Siyad Turkish Cinema Awards in 2015.
