Phil Wall

Phil Wall is a documentary filmmaker, editor, and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. His work explores American culture through sports, community, and independent institutions. His recent docuseries, Soccer Meets America (Roku/Vox Creative/Verizon), chronicles the rise of soccer in the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His feature documentary The Book Keepers won both the Jury Award and Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival, while The Standard reached #4 on the iTunes Documentary chart and streamed on Hulu in the United States. Wall’s films combine archival storytelling, vérité filmmaking, and character-driven reporting to examine how people build meaning, identity, and belonging in American life.
